Spanish GT Champion Isaac Tutumlu Joins Starworks Motorsport for 2014

Starworks Motorsport has announced that Spanish sportscar driver Isaac Tutumlu will be joining the team for its PC challenge in the 2014 Tudor United SportsCar Championship.

The Fort Lauderdale based squad, 2012 Champions in the World (LMP2) and North American (DP) Endurance Championships, shall be competing in the ‘Prototype Challenge’ category, and hopefully the ‘Prototype’ class, of the unified US sportscar series next year and is in discussions with others in the series' support races.

Isaac was born on July 5th, 1985, in Barcelona, Spain and is of Kurdish heritage. He began karting at two years old and won a number of championships including Formula Catalunya, Kart Club Valles Championship and Campionat de Catalunya. Since the age of 20 Isaac has been racing touring cars, GT’s and Prototypes. His success in car racing includes winning the Nissan 350Z Challenge, Open Prototype in Spain, Winter European Radical Series, International GT Open, Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, the 2013 IberGT Championship and SuperGT Spanish Cup.

Isaac Tutumlu, 2014 Starworks Motorsport PC driver:

"I am very happy to begin a new racing career era in the US, proudly representing Kurdistan through a successful team such as Starworks Motorsport. I am really looking forward to the ‘Roar Before the 24’ where I will drive the PC car for the first time at the historic Daytona Speedway. Peter Baron is a very professional team manager and his only objective is the same one I have - the victory; so I think we will put the things together to become champions! I am very excited to begin this new project and want to thank Peter for the opportunity as well as the Barzani family and my main sponsors Ster Group and Golden Eagle Global. I think that after clinching the IberGT Championship and the SuperGT Spanish Cup this season, the best way to continue growing the Barzani Racing Team and myself is racing in the Tudor USCC with Starworks Motorsport."

Peter Baron, Team Owner, Starworks Motorsport:

“We are very excited to introduce Isaac to racing in the United States and the Tudor United SportsCar Championship. I think bringing over new drivers speaks volumes on how the new series is attracting international attention. We have introduced a number of successful drivers to endurance racing in the US and I'm confident Isaac will make an immediate favourable impression. Watching the season of cut-throat international GT Open, he had some impressive results and should settle in no problem in the Tudor series. We are confident that with our resources and Isaac's talent we will be competing for wins instantly. He is bringing his Iberian passion which is a great foundation to build a team around; exciting and vibrant, and will be a lot of fun to work with! It's unfortunate Isaac could not make the pre season test, but he will join us at "The Roar" in January."
