Zytek to Supply Engines and Electric Gearshift Systems to Strakka Racing

Leading UK motorsport company Zytek, are to be a key partner in the new Strakka Racing LMP2 World Endurance Championship (WEC) programme for 2014.

Strakka Racing has announced today details about their new 2014 LMP2 racing programme which will unite a Dome chassis with the race winning Zytek/Nissan V8 engine and Zytek’s high specification electric gear shift system (EGS).

Zytek Operations Director John Manchester commented, “Zytek are delighted to have renewed their partnership with Strakka Racing. We have enjoyed an excellent and very successful relationship over many years and to have the opportunity to work alongside them again on a new LMP2 project is very exciting indeed.

Strakka Racing has an excellent pedigree in motorsport and now with the combination of the Dome chassis and Zytek Nissan LMP2 engines, I am sure that they are going to make a big impact in the LMP2 category over the coming seasons”.

Zytek’s LMP2 Nissan engine is a proven class leader and has enjoyed tremendous success during the 2011, 2012 and 2013 seasons, taking the top three positions at this year’s Le Mans 24 hour race, along with five race victories.. Utilising this engine together with Zytek’s latest evolution EGS, which offers improved functionality, with optional clutch control, and significant reductions in both weight and size , will give Strakka Racing a very competitive package to exploit for the 2014 season.
