Giedo Van der Garde management denies Boekhoorn interest in F1 team shares

Giedo van der Garde’s management has issued a strong denial of recent reports that Marcel Boekhoorn, the future father-in-law of Giedo van der Garde, will invest in shares of the Sahara Force India F1 Team. These rumours are false. The same applies to earlier rumours about a potential investment in Williams F1 Team. An investment in a Formula 1 team does not fit in the investment profile of Boekhoorn M&A, the investment vehicle of Marcel Boekhoorn. In addition, a minority share in an F1 team would not guarantee a race seat for van der Garde, as these are considered to be two separate projects.Giedo enjoyed a very strong Formula 1 debut this year with Caterham F1 Team and he is very grateful to Tony Fernandes and the team for their support throughout the year. The relationship with the team is excellent and discussions for 2014 are taking place in a constructive manner - the outcome of these discussions remains uncertain for the moment. Along with Caterham, Giedo van der Garde’s management are also in talks with a number of other interested teams and all developments in the driver market are followed closely in order to ensure an F1 seat for Giedo next year.Giedo can also count in 2014 again on the support of his loyal sponsors McGregor, Regus, Cashper and Beelen.
