Jesus Díez Villarroel, Jose Manuel de los Milagros and Belgium,s Jean-Michel Gerome finished on the podium in D1 class driving the Dodge Viper GT3 lined up by Team Icer Brakes in the 500 kilometers of Alcaniz, at Motorland Aragon.

The team, starting from the front row of the grid, led in the first half and set the fastest lap in yesterday's race.

Team Icer Brakes carried out an excellent performance in the 500 kilometers of Alcaniz, as the Spanish outfit was able to finish on podium in D1 class, after leading the race at the beginning. Jesus Díez Villarroel, Jose Manuel de los Milagros and Jean-Michel Gerome drove the Dodge Viper GT3 technically assisted by Bolido Racing.

After the test at Jarama earlier, Team Icer Brakes took part in the private test on Friday at Motorland Aragón to accelerate Gérome´s acclimation because he had never raced at this track, the Dodge Viper GT3 showed its competitiveness as lap times were under the two minute barrier continuously.The hard work carried out by Team Icer Brakes paid off in the free practice session, with the Dodge Viper GT3 finishing second. Later, in qualifying session, de los Milagros clocked a lap of 1:58.818, 2nd fastest, and securing a front row place for the race.

De los Milagros completed the opening stint in the 4-hour race and Madrid-born driver was in hopes for the lead at the beginning. Before long he increased his race pace, first catching and then overtaking Monlau Porsche 997 Cup, pole-sitter in qualifying session.

As the race reached first hour, Team Icer Brakes was still leading, De los Milagros pitted and Gerome took over from his teammate. Although the Dodge Viper sponsored by Icer Brakes was second by then, they were virtually leading the race, as the Ginetta G50 in first place still had not pitted. Unfortunately, by the halfway point, a throttle cable problem forced Gerome to pit. Even when chances for winning were gone, podium was not out of reach. So, after four hours, Díez Villarroel crossed the finish line in third place.

Team Icer Brakes set the fastest lap in the race, proving how good their pace was. Yesterday´s performance was an excellent test for future racing projects in the endurance world and as a consequence of this, the 2014 season looks brighter than ever for Team Icer Brakes.
