Ibran and Fontes to race a Ginetta G55 GT4 in Spanish Endurance Cup 2014

Alvaro Fontes and Javier Ibran will share a new Ginetta G55 GT4 in the Spanish Endurance Cup next year. With this new vehicle and their experience in racing the Spanish duo will be among the candidates for the title.

The two Spanish drivers with experience both on the national and international stage will take part in the five rounds of the Endurance Cup next year, visiting famous tracks such as Circuit de Catalunya, Motorland Aragon, Cheste, Jerez and Jarama.

Fontes, who was born in Malaga, and Ibran, from Valencia, have vast experience in many different championships, not just in Spain but also abroad. The Ginetta G55 GT4, the most recent car built by the British brand, will contribute to reaching their targets,clinching partial victories and the title. The Ginetta G55 GT4 uses a V6 engine built by Ford and features 3.7 liters and 355hp, whilst Hewland have developed a sequential gearbox for this car.

“I'm delighted after taking this chance inmy racing career in 2014, and closing everything so soon, with ime to prepare for the season properly. To team up with Javier is another excellent opportunity, as we have known each other for many years, and he already has proven his speed”, Fontes explained.

Ibran stressed “after competing In the Maserati Trofeo MC World Series, this new car will be a great opportunity to keep racing at the highest level, in a championship like the CER, and with Álvaro as my teammate. I am aware that our rivals will be strong too, but we will try our best next year!”.

The team is due to start its first test on track in March, with the championship kicking off in May.
