Nathan Morcom Joins Gulf Racing in Abu Dhabi

Nathan Morcom joining Gulf Racing as Gulf 12 Hours Reserve

Twenty One year old Nathan Morcom is joining Gulf Racing as their reserve driver at this weekends Gulf 12 Hour, to be held around Abu Dhabi’s spectacular Yas Marina circuit.

Morcom has recently returned from testing the 888 UK BMW Z4 GT3 at a greasy Donington Park circuit and delivered the goods, impressing team boss Ian Harrison in the process. He backed the effort up a couple of days later with a GT4 pole and podium at the final Britcar race, in damp dark conditions alongside Benny Simonsen.

“I guess I hadn't really had a great interest in V8 Supercars, nor in F1. When Jon talked to me about going sportscar racing I was keen. I’ve always like longer distance enduro style events and enjoy being part of a team, playing my part to achieve a result. Now that GT3 is getting so many manufacturers involved I can see the potential and I really like working with people away from the track as well. Coming to the Gulf 12 Hours with a leading team like Gulf and one that is keen to support young talent is a great way for me to introduce myself to the GT fraternity. I’ll be putting my best foot forward, for sure."
