Yesterday, December 29th 2013, the SONANGOL AFRICA ECO RACE started for the third consecutuive year in the Seaside resort of St Cyprien, close to the Oriental Pyrenees.
As always the sun was present for the tens of thousands of spectators for the start of the African Rally, which is the only opportunity to see these types of vehicles in France. Approximately 400 participants where present at the administatrive and technical checks.
The Start was announced by Mr Thierry DEL POSO, mayor of St Cyprien as the cars, bikes and trucks began the trip towards Motril in the south of Spain to board on the ferry boat for Morocco.
The SONANGOL AFRICA ECO RACE will arrive on the 31st in the morning. Will then start the 5407km route of which 2992km of selective sectors.

Eurosport international, which covers 120 million households over 59 countries and 20 languages and then with Eurosport 2 with 40 million households, 46 countries and 15 languages.
Each of these 2 channels will broadcast a daily 13 minute programme fully edited during the event.
The programme will be rebroadcasted the next morning.Finally, MOTORS TV will broadcast a 13 minute programme each evening, and rebroadcast 3 times in the 38 countries where MOTORS TV is broadcast.
