Supercar Week and Palm Beach International Raceway Join Forces

TO CREATE THE 2014 SUPERCAR WEEK PRESENTED BY PALM BEACH INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

North America's Largest Open-Air Exotic Car Show and South Florida's Premier Motorsports Facility Offer a Unique Range of Social, Artistic and Kinetic Activities to Automotive Enthusiasts

Jan. 2, 2014 / West Palm Beach, FL – The two largest and most influential automotive enthusiast organizations in Palm Beach County today announced a new marketing and promotional relationship that will result in a totally unique series of events -- social, artistic, commercial, mechanical and kinetic -- for supercar owners and automotive enthusiasts – the 2014 Supercar Week presented by Palm Beach International Raceway™ (PBIR).

Held annually January 4 – 12 at various locations around Palm Beach County, Supercar Week presented by PBIR includes private VIP and public parties, opening day of the Polo Season at the International Polo Club Palm Beach in Wellington, a Track Day event at Palm Beach International Raceway, Supercar at The Gardens in Palm Beach Gardens, Media Day, Supercar at The Norton Museum of Art, Supercar Auction America, an art auction of significant exotics, classics and specialty vehicles and an art exhibition, this year entitled "The History of Formula 1," and the grand finale Supercar SuperShow, held Sunday January 12th on the West Palm Beach Waterfront.

More than 50,000 people and 600 cars are expected for the 2014 Supercar Week presented by PBIR, including supercars, race cars, classics, muscle cars, high performance sports cars, electric and 'green' cars and art cars.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2014, Palm Beach International Raceway is a state-of-the-art motorsports and entertainment facility. Purchased in 2008 by a group of local motorsports enthusiasts, the track underwent a $20 million upgrade and now features a challenging 2.034-mile asphalt Road Course, 1/4-mile concrete Drag Strip, and 8/10-mile Kart Track. The facility is popular for testing with teams from all forms of racing; IndyCar Series teams use the track for winter testing, as do several sports car teams from the Tudor United Sports Car Championship. Driving schools, testing sessions, private rentals, and corporate team-building events are held at PBIR year-round. Located in Jupiter, Florida, PBIR is the official home of the Palm Beach Driving Club®, MRP Motorsport, and Driven2Win Drag Racing School.

"We're confident that the 2014 Supercar Week presented by Palm Beach International Raceway is a win-win situation for both organizations," says Jason Rittenberry, President and CEO of IRG Sports + Entertainment™, the parent company of PBIR. "It provides us with an opportunity to directly engage with our demographic and increase enthusiast participation in the Palm Beach Driving Club. And for the owners of these magnificent cars, PBIR is the only place in South Florida where they can develop their driving skills and utilize their cars at the levels for which they were designed. And hopefully, once they've been introduced to our facility, they'll come back as fans for the racing events that take place at one of our tracks practically every week."

Celebrating its 50th Anniversary, Supercar Week presenting sponsors Palm Beach International Raceway and the Palm Beach Driving Club have planned an incredible driving experience day for professional, intermediate and beginning level drivers and their cars. Activities include a full day road course driving experience, as well as drag strip or autocross. Enthusiasts can drive their own vehicle on the track or ride as a passenger with professional drivers in specially performance enhanced race cars. Supercar Week sponsors, their vehicles and race teams will be on display and both vendor and catered food and beverages will be available.

"Our new relationship with PBIR is a big step forward for both Supercar Week and all automotive enthusiasts in South Florida," says Neil London, President and Executive Producer of Supercar Week, Inc. and Managing Director of ICTV1 Networks. "With this high-demographic event drawing national and international attention to the automotive scene in Palm Beach County and the ready availability of a world-class facility where owners can both race their own cars and attend a wide variety of professional racing events, we have the elements in place to create a major automotive 'happening.' The city has offered us space that will allow us to again double the size of the event, which will certainly happen in the next few years as more enthusiasts from around the world make this their winter automotive pilgrimage, and more automotive and lifestyle manufacturers begin to take advantage of the marketing opportunities."

All of the Supercar Week events have been created as media occasions for film and TV, with Palm Beach-based ICTV1 providing full event coverage and streaming live worldwide on ICTV1.com.
