GLASGOW are one rider away from completing their 2014 line-up after confirming a return to Ashfield for Joey Ringwood. The Australian impressed club bosses with his form in the latter stages of his first season of UK racing, which was enough to earn him a recall, and he will start at reserve for the Tigers with Anders Thomsen.Co-promoter Colin Hamilton said: “We are delighted to have Joey coming back to ride for the Tigers and believe that he will have learnt much from last season and will put his first year experiences of racing in the Premier League to good use in 2014, especially being able to start at reserve.“He's got to know the tracks, the country, and I think he knows that he's capable of scoring points. That's what we want him to do, and we want him to do it quickly.”

OXFORD supporters are being urged to attend a planning application hearing on Wednesday evening as they fight to bring the sport back to Cowley. The application is for 220 homes to be built on the stadium site but should those plans fall through the possibility of a sale exists to parties with an interest in re-starting speedway in the city for the first time since 2007.OSSC Chairman Gavin Beckley said: “The recommendation of the planning officer is refusal, which is good news, but we definitely can’t afford to rest on our laurels.“We need to show the councillors the passion that exists to open the stadium, so that every last councilor votes against the planning proposal. We would ask anyone who can to attend the meeting. Your attendance may make the difference between the plans being defeated or not.”
