RideoffroadUK are back into action on January 19th with a 2014 season opening Play and Race day at the popular Carlton Grange venue just outside the market town of Helmsley in North Yorkshire.The day starts with Youth riders getting a 30 minute practice session, closely followed by a one hour cross country race.All Adult riders will get a 45 minute practice session followed by a 1.5 hour race. This gives all riders plenty of track time with the great chance to practice on the course prior to the race. Most riders use practice to do 3 or 4 sighting laps to familiarise themselves with the course and track conditions before preparing for the actual race. There is only a 15 minute gap between the finish of practice and the start of each race, so just enough time for clean goggles, a drink, and a top up of fuel before the race begins.
