Rick Parfitt Jnr to headline first RacingROCKS music motorsport event at Rockingham

LIVE music will once again feature on the Rockingham race calendar this season with the first RacingROCKS being held at the Northamptonshire circuit in May.

Bringing a festival vibe to the British Racing Sports Car Club (BRSCC) club race meeting over the weekend of May 17/18, RacingROCKS will blend the worlds of motorsport, music and food & drink.

With the BRSCC offering a great programme of saloon & sportscar racing over the two days, away from the track there will be entertainment from a mix of up-and-coming bands and established acts which will appeal across the generations.

Rick Parfitt Jnr and his legendary RPJ Band will headline on the Saturday evening, supported by Gonzo, while on Sunday, it’s the turn of The Quireboys who will be joined by Vida on the main stage.

Nikki Lov and Mark Stringer will be among the acts providing the music on the Acoustic Stage throughout the day, as visitors sample the selection of delicious and mouth watering delights on offer from acclaimed street chefs and micro-breweries at the food & drink fair.

There will be off-track attractions to keep the younger members of the family entertained, and to continue the festival theme, camping and caravan pitches will be available for those wishing to experience the whole weekend.

On track there will be qualifying and races from nine different championships, including a firm favourite at Rockingham - the Pickup Truck Championship which brings its own unique brand of racing to the UK’s only banked Oval and Europe’s fastest racing circuit.

The rest of the action takes place on the International Super Sportscar Long Circuit, which will include the eclectic mix of racing machines from the Arrowpak Saloon & Sports Cars while the BRSCC Formula Jedi will represent the single-seaters.

Visitors will be able to save a fantastic £15 as part of an early bird promotion when booking an adult weekend ticket. The two-day pass costs a budget-busting £30 for a limited period, after which the standard price increases to £45. Single day tickets are also available and are priced just £16 during the promotional period before rising to £25.

As always at Rockingham all tickets include access to a grandstand seat, pit garage roof and race paddock, which means there are no hidden costs. Advance tickets can be purchased either online at www.seetickets.co.uk or via the ticket hotline on 01536 500500.
