Motors TV Weekend Highlights January 25,26

It may still be January but the 2014 racing season has already begun in earnest, and you can catch the best of the action on Motors TV.This year’s Daytona 24 Hours marks the beginning of a new era for American endurance racing as Grand-Am and the ALMS join forces to form the United SportsCar Championship. It will be particularly fascinating to see how the organisers’ efforts to balance performance between the LMP2 and Daytona Prototype entries have fared, with a thrilling battle in prospect between the newly merged class if all goes to plan.But even if the top-tier category does produce a runaway winner you can guarantee a frantic battle in the GT classes, with the likes of Ferrari, Porsche, BMW and Corvette battling for victory.Live coverage of the endurance classic runs from 19.00 until 02.05am on Saturday, so be sure to have a strong coffee to hand. We then return to the Florida venue for the deciding hours between midday and 20:05pm on Sunday.The opening round of the FIA World Rally Championship took place in Monte Carlo last weekend and those who missed it can catch our highlights programme for a full recap.
