Unifin becomes Sauber premium partner for 2014

The Sauber Formula One team has announced Mexican financial institution Unifin as a new premium partner for the 2014 season.

The news was announced on Monday just minutes after a renewed agreement with Interproteccion was confirmed, one of several Mexican partners the Swiss team has re-signed in recent weeks following confirmation that Mexico's Esteban Gutiérrez will drive for the team this year.

Unifin Financiera is active in leasing, factoring and auto credit. The company had a one-race deal with Sauber at last September's Italian Grand Prix, but will now appear on the top of the nose of the car at every race.

No financial details were immediately available, although there is certain to be a cash element involved given the company’s logos will feature on the C33 cars.

Rodrigo Lebois Mateos, chairman of Unifin, said: "It is an honour and we are proud to announce our partnership with the Sauber F1 Team. We are sure it will be a year full of achievements for Esteban Gutiérrez and Adrian Sutil. We´re confident that this partnership will be very successful.”

Sauber finished seventh in last year's world championship.Source: SportsPro
