IPSWICH co-promoter Chris Louis is to take over as the Witches’ team manager this season.Louis, a former British Champion and also a current engine tuner, feels he will provide the knowledge and experience required following previous boss Pete Simmons’ decision to quit.Louis said: “To be honest I’ve given this a lot of thought after Pete decided to step down and I needed to look at who could do a better job because there was no sense in just standing still. I like to move forwards and I had a few options, but I didn’t feel those options were going to take us forward that much. “It won’t be an easy job and it will be something I will need to grow into as the season progresses.”(SPEEDWAY 3)
RYE House have achieved unusual publicity - by being heavily involved in the latest video for high-profile alternative rock band You Me At Six.Filming for ‘Fresh Start Fever’ took place late last autumn with track action sequences featuring riders Luke Bowen, Tyson Nelson, Chris Mills and Marc Owen.Bowen said: “They filmed it on a Sunday, after one of our Training Days. It was a very long shoot because they needed the racing shots to be at night under lights. “Unfortunately it was absolutely tipping it down, but we had to keep going out on track again and again to get all the takes and shooting angles. You really had to be there to see the state of our bikes and kevlars afterwards!”(FIXTURES)
