(SPEEDWAY 1)THE British Speedway Promoters’ Association can now confirm a satisfactory conclusion has been reached over the clash of dates with the Elite Riders’ Championship and Gary Havelock’s Farewell. Our broadcast partner, Sky Sports, have advised us that a slot for live coverage of the ERC at Coventry has become available at 6pm on Sunday, March 23 and they, like ourselves, have no wish to be associated with negative publicity. We have agreed to move the ERC to this slot which leaves the March 21 date clear for Gary Havelock’s Farewell at Poole. The BSPA look forward to a successful ERC and a fitting way to launch the first season of a new Sky Sports broadcast deal.

RYE House stalwart Luke Bowen has confirmed Sunday July 13 as the date for his Testimonial meeting at Hoddesdon.Bowen will be staging ‘Luke’s Ten Year Take-Off’ during a season in which he is set to re-launch his career with the Rockets after suffering a broken thigh in 2012, forcing him to miss last year’s Premier League campaign. He said: “It’s the day after the British Cardiff Grand Prix, which will make for a real party atmosphere weekend. I’m hoping to finalise the meeting format in the next few weeks, but I’m aiming to have a little something for everybody, with one or two surprises thrown in there.“I had one meeting last season, when I finished second in an individual event at Kent, but I’m even hungrier now after all that time off. I’m really looking forward to the season; I just want to keep riding, and riding, and riding.”
