50 Cent to make Nascar debut with Swan

Popular music star 50 Cent's SMS Audio company has become an associate sponsor of the Swan Racing team.

The deal will see the logos of the headphones and audio products brand appear on Swan Racing's two entries in the Nascar Sprint Cup at each race in the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

50 Cent - real name Curtis Jackson - is chief executive of SMS Audio, a company he helped to form in 2011. He is expected to attend several Nascar races during the season to support the team.

“Swan Racing and its up-and-coming drivers are the perfect match for SMS Audio,” Jackson said, via a press release.

“They are as passionate for the sport of racing as we are for our audio products, and we’re confident that the music-loving Nascar fanbase is going to enjoy our headphones – whether at track or at home.”

The company's involvement in Nascar was brokered by Pegasus Marketing Group.

“I am pumped up for this partnership to say the least, as I am a huge hip hop fan, I am a huge 50 fan and I rely on headphones to get me in the right pre-race mindset,” said Parker Kligerman, one of Swan Racing's drivers.

“I have my headphones on anytime I am about to get on track. It’s a way for me to focus and get pumped up. This partnership is an honour.”

No financial details were available but the deal is likely to be worth a mid-six figure sum to the team.
