Team Suzuki dominates South Sumatra Indoprix

Suzuki’s Satria FU150 rider Rafid Topan dominated the second round of the 2014 Indoprix Championship at Skyland Circuit in South Sumatra at the weekend.

After his podium at round one at Sentul International Karting Circuit in Indonesia last month, Topan topped the time-sheets from the start by setting the fastest qualifying lap-time of 1:22.186 ahead of Suzuki privateers Hokky Krisdianto and Andy Farhat.

In an exciting opening 12-lap race, that saw the lead change several times between the three Suzuki riders, Topan eventually took the lead in the closing stages to win. He repeated this in the second, although had to come from behind, forcing into the lead on the final lap to take the chequered flag.

The Satria FU150 was ideally-suited to the circuit because of its light weight, agility and quick acceleration from the powerful 150cc DOHC motor that features Suzuki’s Composite Elecrochemical Cyclinder (SCEM), along with a strong six-speed gearbox.

Rd 3: 9-10 August - Park Circuit Kenjeran, Surabaya. Rd 4: 13-14 September - International Karting Circuit, Sentul. Rd 5: 22-23 November - Balipat Circuit, Binuang.
