Tai Woffinden makes GOSH visit

TAI WOFFINDEN MEETS CHILDREN AT GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL

WORLD Speedway Champion Tai Woffinden took a break from the track to pay a very special visit to children at Great Ormond Street Hospital last week.Tai, who has challenged himself to raise an incredible £100,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity this year, met patients on the hospital’s Eagle ward, which treats children with kidney problems. He also saw how the money he is raising will help the hospital by funding a bedroom in the new state-of-the art Premier Inn Clinical Building.

Tai said: “I was really inspired by the children I met on Eagle ward - they face tough challenges with amazing bravery. I also saw how important it is for patients to have a modern bedroom with space for mum or dad to stay.

“I’m asking all my fans to get behind my challenge – every donation will help us make a real difference for children and families at Great Ormond Street Hospital.”

Tai is inviting Speedway fans to join him for a sponsored bike ride to Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium on 11 July, ahead of the British Grand Prix. Belle Vue Promoter Chris Morton and American GP star Greg Hancock will also be joining the ride, with further special guests to be announced. Visit your local Speedway club office to find out more.

Due to be completed in 2017, the Premier Inn Clinical Building will complete the Mittal Children’s Medical Centre, replacing some of the hospital’s oldest buildings with modern, world class facilities.
