Tutumlu to drive a SRT Corvette from Portimao on in GT Open

After starting their season in the International GT Open competing with an Autorlando Sport Porsche, Isaac Tutumlu and Barzani Racing have reached an agreement to race a Chevrolet Corvette entered by  Selleslagh Racing Team in remaining events, teaming up with Maxime Soulet in a Chevrolet C6/ZR1, one of the most competitive vehicles in the series

Tutumlu comments “it is a source of great pride to me driving a Chevrolet Corvette entered by Selleslagh Racing Team, a squad of great prestige. After Nürburgring, and still having fourteen races ahead, we decided to change the car. It is a winner car as proved in Germany. And teaming up with Maxime Soulet, leader of the series at the moment, it is possible to achieve victories almost from the very start.

"It is important to notice SRT is a factory-backed team, with support from Pratt&Miller. It shall be the very first time for a Kurdish driver competing with an American car, and the USA has always been an allied nation for Kurdistan, so it is great. We have chances to take part in other races with SRT, such as the 24 hours of Dubai and the 24 hours of Daytona”.

Tutumlu finished by saying a few words in praise of Autorlando Sport: “To race with them was to feel at home. Not by accident we won the Spanish Iber GT championship last year. Unfortunately the 911 GT3 R model is less competitive now, by lack of development from Porsche. But I wish to thank everybody at Autorlando Sport for this period of my career with them”.

The Autódromo do Algarve is a track which suits Tutumlu, he finished on the podium in race two last year after his 4th place in race one.
