Round 4: Severn Valley Stages, 31 May

North Wales crew Luke Francis and John Roberts returned to the Royal Welsh showground as outright winners of the Severn Valley Stages, with almost half a minute in hand.

Alex Allingham and Chris Williams started well, setting quickest time on the opening test, and reached the last stage of the morning equal with Francis. However their showroom specification Group N Subaru though was no match for Francis’ more powerful Mitsubishi Evo 9 and they settled for second overall.

Championship leader Paul Davy and co-driver Roger Allen admitted they were trying too hard after going off the road on the fourth test, losing too much time to continue. Father and son crew of Wug and Max Utting claimed the final podium position.
