CAR 22 - SERGIO CANAMASAS
Sergio, slipped away at the start from the 16th position reaching the 26th, followed a very aggressive race strategy deciding to put on Option Soft Yellow tires and therefore carrying out the pitstop after the 6th lap. Right at that moment, the Safety Car came out which allowed him to recuperate the gap from the leadership of the race and return to the track in the 18th position with 12 cars in front of him who still needed to carry out the pitstop. The race pace was always good and Sergio was the author of a series of surpasses until reaching the 8th position. Only seven laps from the end however, he was attacked and thrown violently from the track by another car, violently hitting the barriers and completely destroying the one-seater. The Catalan driver was very lucky because he did not suffer any physical damage but will have to present himself to the Circuit Medical Center tomorrow in order to evaluate his physical conditions.

Positioning himself in the 4th row of the starting line up, Johnny was able to earn another position closing the first lap in P7. The strategic choice of Cecotto's group was moderate deciding to put one Prime Medium White at the start with the intention to carry out the pit-stop not before two thirds of the Feature Race. The race continued like this until the 22nd lap with an excellent race pace but when he was called in to change the tires, the Venezuelan driver turned off the engine and at the moment of restarting, he was not able to turn the car back due to an electronic problem managing the clutch. Unfortunately, Johnny was not able to collect important points for the championship but still remains in 3rd place in the final classification.
