Round 4: Mopar Euro Nationals, Santa Pod Raceway, 26-27 July

Former champion Andy Robinson led from start to finish at Santa Pod, winning the first completed race of the season.

Robinson and his 1969 Chevrolet Camaro achieved pole position at 6.230 seconds on their first qualifying pass and defeated Wayne Nicholson and Chris Isaacs to reach the final.

Seventh qualifier Andy Wright profited from the red light disqualifications of Rick Garrett and Kevin Slyfield to meet Robinson in the decider and delivered his quickest pass of the weekend – 6.696 seconds – in a losing cause. Wright’s 1938 Ford Coupe suffered a flash fire at the finish.
