Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup Race Off teams confirmed

HOLDER RETURNS FOR RACE OFF

Australian skipper Chris Holder makes his Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup return after being declared in their side for tonight’s Race Off at Bydgoszcz.

The 26-year-old pulled out of Event 1 at King’s Lynn as he hadn’t sufficiently recovered from the broken wrist and fractured neck that have kept him sidelined since June 20.

But after a practice session yesterday, he replaces Cameron Woodward in the Roos quartet and lines up alongside SGP rivals Darcy Ward and Troy Batchelor, plus Saturday’s top scorer Jason Doyle.

Sweden also make a change to their line up from Event 2 at Vastervik with Kim Nilsson taking Peter Ljung’s spot.

The Swedes are skippered by former Bydgoszcz favourite Andreas Jonsson, while Tomas H Jonasson and young gun Oliver Berntzon complete their team.

The USA and Czech Republic track unchanged sides from their opening-round meetings.

Hancock spearheads an American team, featuring World Under-21 finalist Gino Manzares, who starred on nine points at King’s Lynn and defeated world champ Tai Woffinden in his opening ride in the process. Ricky Wells and Max Ruml complete their quartet.

Ales Dryml captains the Czech Republic, who will hope for more heroics from young sensations Eduard Krcmar and Vaclav Milik, who impressed on nine and seven points respectively in Vastervik. Josef Franc rounds off their four-man side.

British referee Jim Lawrence takes charge at the ZKS Polonia Stadium this evening.
