Park Place Motorsports heads to Road America

Returning to the famed Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, Park Place Motorsports will head to Round Eight of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship in search of the first victory in their 2014 campaign. Beyond the return of season-long driver Kévin Estre, the team will also welcome sponsor Hawk Performance to the event.

“This is a circuit where we really believe we can deliver,” stated Patrick Lindsey, co-driver of the No. 73 Porsche 911 GT America. “We have a great chemistry with Kévin and the team, and with the long straights and fast corners our Porsche should be very strong. Over the last few races we’ve found a few key setup elements, and were it not for a couple changes of fortune at previous rounds we might be in search of our second victory. Having the folks at Hawk Performance is also a welcome boost, as they’re a significant track sponsor and our group has a long history with them as well.”

Hawk Performance, who will have a major trackside presence during this weekend’s Continental Tire Road Race Showcase, has a long association with the team. Not only does the brake pad manufacturer currently sponsor the Pirelli World Challenge entry of Mike Skeen, who has driven for Park Place on multiple occasions, but it has also had a long association with Patrick Lindsey dating back to his own foray in to the Pirelli World Challenge.“The association of Hawk Performance and the Horton Autosport team has elevated the brand to a new level,” stated Mike DeFord, VP of Marketing & New Business Development for Hawk Performance. “The association shows that Hawk Performance is a premier brake pad manufacturer. This weekend’s race at Road America showcases the ability of our brand to compete at an international level with the best in the world.”As a four-mile course featuring 17 turns, the challenges of Road America should be well suited to the team. Practice will begin tomorrow, August 8, with FOX Sports 1 television coverage on Sunday, August 10, at 6:30 PM ET.
