Junqueira wins PC pole award as RSR Racing qualify 1,2 at Road America

Coming off a 1-2 finish in the Prototype Challenge (PC) class at Indianapolis, RSR Racing continued its momentum by sweeping the top two positions in qualifying at Road America. Bruno Junqueira ran a lap of 1:59.411 (122.039 mph) in the No. 09 Linospresso USA ORECA FLM09 co-driven by Duncan Ende to capture his third TOTAL Pole Award of the season

“Road America is my favorite track in the U.S., and every time I come here I get excited,” said Junqueira, who scored his first Champ Car victory at the circuit in 2001. “It’s a very fast track and very fast corners. You need to believe in yourself and believe in the car to make the corners at high speed. So this is why I love it.”

Brickyard Grand Prix PC winner Jack Hawksworth was second with a lap of 1:59.493 (121.955 mph) in RSR’s No. 08 AutomaxUSA.com entry co-driven by Chris Cumming, followed by Luis Diaz, 1:59.931 (121.510 mph), in the No. 25 8Star Motorsports Takis/Speedsters entry co-driven by Sean Rayhall.

Championship leader Colin Braun – also a three-time PC pole winner – qualified sixth with a lap of 2:00.273 (121.164 mph) in the No. 54 CORE autosport ORECA FLM09 co-driven by Jon Bennett.
