At round seven of the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship at Oulton Park, Luke Mossey on the Teccare Profile Triumph had a mixed weekend in the changing weather conditions. During the Sprint race on Saturday Luke secured a fantastic third place and in the wet on Sunday he got 12th.
After his podium at Thruxton Luke was keen to come to Oulton Park with a positive mind and he was running up near the front in all the sessions. He qualified in a strong fourth place for the Sprint race on Saturday and despite a slow start he soon managed to work his way back through the pack. He dropped back to sixth place at one point but soon knuckled down and worked his way back through to a fantastic third place and another solid podium place.
The weather came in bad on Sunday so warm up and the race were declared wet, Luke has struggled in the wet previously and sustained injuries so despite qualifying on the front row he knew it would be a tough challenge. Luke just wanted a solid position in the wet and brought his Triumph home in 12th place, he is now in seventh place in the Championship standings.
Luke Mossey - "I was looking forward to Oulton despite breaking my back at this round last year and I was on a high after Thruxton. The Teccare Profile Triumph team had my bike set up perfectly from the off on Friday and I was able to run up near the front which gave me confidence for qualifying and the race. I made a couple of mistakes in the opening laps of the first race but once I settled down I was able to push back towards the front again and got the podium. I was a little nervous when I woke up on Sunday and saw the weather and all I wanted to do was get a finish and a few points, I need to get my confidence back in the wet and keep pushing forwards. It was a little sketchy out there but I just tried to keep working hard, it's not my ideal result but it's better than nothing. I can't wait to get to Cadwell in a few weeks' time."
