Markus Pommer, I want to win at home AutoGP

The Auto GP championship will be back on-track this weekend at the Nurburgring. The German round will be the seventh of the 2014 season and also the home one for Markus Pommer. Fielded by Super Nova International, Pommer has been one of the stars of the season so far and will try to fight back to victory in front of the German crowd.

What do you expect from your home race? "I hope to fight for wins there. I know the track really well as I race there a couple of times per year and also do lots of testing on it. Throughout the years I also had the chance to try the short version which will be used with DTM in a few days, so I hope to get some good luck back after the tough breaks suffered in the rounds held before".

What do you think of your first Auto GP experience so far?"It's been good. The championship has a good level, a quick car but more than that a reasonable budget required. It's great to be paired to a World Championship like for WTCC, and race with the DTM and LMS. Plus, the live TV coverage on Eurosport is really valuable, and enables drivers to get much more visibility".

What has been the most difficult thing for you this season?"I had never raced with two different tire compounds during the same weekend and I had never tried a race pit-stop. Despite I had to face some problems, like for example at Budapest, I think it's been a positive experience. The same goes for working with Kumho, who delivered us some great tires"

What’s your goal for the final part of the season?"I'm pushing very hard to get up to second place in standings. Due to the bad luck suffered in the last couple of races, I think that the title is now too far away as a goal. But from second to sixth place we're all very close and with a bit of luck in the next four races I hope to be a contender"
