Motors TV Weekend Highlights August 16,17

Summer shutdown? What summer shutdown?! The live motorsport continues on Motors TV this weekend courtesy of stars of the future and stock cars, plus some old favourites, too. We begin at the Nurburgring where FIA Formula 3 European Championship leader Esteban Ocon and title rival Max Verstappen will continue to slug it out. With a 94-point advantage and only three rounds remaining the Frenchman is still sitting pretty, but any slip up might open the door for his Dutch counterpart who has produced some eye-catching performances this year. Britain’s Tom Blomqvist and the ultra-consistent Lucas Auer can’t be discounted either, while there’s all sorts of talent sat waiting in the wings should any of the usual suspects falter. Whatever happens, we’ll have all three races live across Saturday and Sunday. What weekend would be complete without some form of NASCAR Nationwide coverage on Motors TV? Not this one, that’s for sure, as Chase Elliott looks to extend his championship lead at Mid-Ohio.Last weekend’s run to fifth overall, but first of the Series regulars, at Watkins Glen suggests he’ll be one to watch at the final non-oval race of the campaign. But with just 13 points covering him, Regan Smith, Elliott Sadler and Ty Dillon, there’s still plenty to play for when the live action begins at 19:30 BST.Elsewhere, we’ll have coverage of the latest ADAC GT Masters round from the Slovakiaring where one of Europe’s best, but probably least known, sportscar series reaches its halfway mark in 2014. Expect some tight racing from all manner of GT3-spec machinery and a whole host of top drivers in a highlights package featuring both races.Saturday afternoon’s GT coverage is bolstered by a first opportunity to see part one of our latest Supercar Challenge offering from Assen where a smorgasbord of sports racing cars past and present will be tearing up the fabled TT circuit. Add to that further chances to watch Tudor United SportsCar Championship and 24 Hours of Spa highlights, plus Historic Monaco Grand Prix coverage and a Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb timed runs replay, and this weekend is again shaping up to be a cracker on Motors TV.Saturday 16 August09:00 3D Drives, Episode 710:30 LIVE FIA F3 European Championship, Rd 9, Nurburgring – Race 112:10 FIA World Rally Championship, Rd 8, Rally Finland – Highlights 13:10 Historic Grand Prix of Monaco, 1966-72 F1 Cars – Highlights14:15 Historic Grand Prix of Monaco, 1973-78 F1 Cars – Highlights15:15 TUSCC, Rd 10, Road America – Highlights17:20 Supercar Challenge, Rd 5, Assen – Part 117:50 ADAC GT Masters, Rd 5, Slovakiaring – Highlights19:30 LIVE NASCAR Nationwide Series, Rd 22, Mid-OhioSunday 17 August09:50 LIVE FIA F3 European Championship, Rd 9, Nurburgring – Race 211:05 ADAC GT Masters, Rd 5, Slovakiaring – Highlights12:40 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Hillclimb Replay14:15 LIVE FIA F3 European Championship, Rd 9, Nurburgring – Race 315:20 NASCAR Nationwide Series, Rd 22, Mid-Ohio – Highlights17:50 Blancpain Endurance Series, Rd 4, 24 Hours of Spa – Highlights21:00 FIA F3 European Championship, Rd 9, Nurburgring – HighlightsAll times are BST
