Cooper Tires British Formula 3 Thruxton review

Round 5: Thruxton, 16-17 August

Martin Cao scored his maiden win at Thruxton and briefly took the championship lead until Matt Rao reclaimed it.

Cao and Rao traded the lead in race one until the former took the chequered flag. Cao then dominated race two, taking an early lead and building a strong gap over Rao to secure a comfortable victory.

Rao fought back in the final encounter, denying Cao a hat-trick of wins. It was another hard-fought victory, with pole-sitter Rao losing out at the start but fighting back to re-take the lead, the victory and top spot in the championship.
