Round 6: Old Forge Garage Mewla Rally, 24 August

Damian Cole and co-driver Elliott Edmondson won the Old Forge Garage Mewla Rally after a day-long tussle with Steve Simpson and Patrick Walsh.

With two of the 14 stages to go, the two crews were tied on the same penalties. Cole then pulled out all the stops to beat his rival by three seconds on each of the final two stages and take a narrow victory.

John Indri and navigator Peter James put in an excellent run to take third place, finishing ahead of fellow two-wheel drive exponents Simon Mauger and Jonathan Hawkins in their Escort MkII.
