Villorba Corse Ferrari 458 ready for Spa GT Open

Montermini / Schirò to start title fight again at Spa

#1 Villorba Corse Ferrari 458 is ready for the battles of the sixth International GT Open round on September 7-8: “We can't make any mistakes but we feel confident to be competitive enough to get an important result to the championship”

After the summer break Scuderia Villorba Corse is ready to come back in the International GT Open. The team led by Raimondo Amadio will race in Belgium in the sixth round of the season with Andrea Montermini and Niccolò Schirò behind the wheel of their #1 Ferrari 458 GT3. The event is to be held from September 6 to 8 on one of the most challenging track of them all: Spa. Entered in the Super GT class, the Italian team will aim to score some crucial points to the title fight. Actually, for the F1 driver and reigning GT Open champion from Modena and the 20-years-old 2012 European F3 open champion Spa represents a very important commitment both in the view of overall and Super GT standings as the Belgian track inaugurates the final rush of the season before Monza and Barcelona.

“We come back at Spa this season after the wonderful experience in the 24 Hours - says Amadio, Team Principal -. We can't make any mistakes, so we have to pay a particular attention in approaching it. We are confident to be competitive enough to get an important result to the championship. And we will have to pay a lesser handicap-time than in latest events, that should help us throughout the weekend.”

“We can count on several data for such a challenging track - says Montermini -; we were always able to fight against all the major contenders there, it could be a good opportunity to close the gap in the standings.”
