Interview with Jack Aitken, FR 2.0 ALPS, Eurocup and Pro Mazda news

Qu 1) What made you decide to enter a Pro Mazda race in the USA this summer?JA: I've heard a lot of good things about racing in the States, and with the long break in the World Series by Renault calendar, I thought it would be the perfect time to give it a try and stay race-fit.

Qu 2) How different was it racing in the series, and also in the States, from European racing?JA: There's a slightly more relaxed feel to the whole weekend, and being on the same programme as Indycar is pretty incredible! The competition is just as hard in Pro Mazda as it is in Europe, even if the grid isn't as big as the Eurocup.

Qu 3) You have another wild card entry with Fortec Motorsports in Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS coming up this weekend - what are your goals for this raceJA: We want to make sure we're on top of our game for the last few races this season in Eurocup. For sure I'll be looking for a podium this weekend at Mugello!

Qu 4) The next round of the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 championship is at the Hungaroring, straight after your trip to Italy. It was a tough first half of the year for the Fortec team, how are you planning on tackling the three final rounds?JA: We're going to prepare as best we can. We had a tough start, but we've learned from it. Fortec is a top-notch team, and I'm confident we'll be right at the front again.

Qu 5) Do you have any plans for 2015 that you can tell us about yet?JA: Not yet! As usual, a lot depends on how the second half of the season goes, so we'll just have to see.

The next round of the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 championship takes place at the Hungaroring, Budapest, Hungary, on 13-14 September, 2014.
