Malcolm Rathmell Sport partners MPS Racing‏ for 2015

The UK Sherco Importers, Malcolm Rathmell Sport, are delighted to announce that they have formed a partnership with the well-established Enduro team, MPS Racing for the 2015 season. Mick Seward, an extremely well known and respected team owner, has been running the Husqvarna team for nine years and what he does not know about Enduro probably would not be worth knowing!

When MRS initially had the phone call from Mick they immediately got in touch with the Sherco boss, Marc Teissier, and within a few days they were on a flight to Nimes to discuss a future partnership. The Sherco factory realised that Mick could bring all his experience and knowledge to the brand and have signed him to run the European Championship team, along with the World Enduro Extreme Championship, the BEC British Championship and various other major events.

MPS currently run Jack Rowland and Jamie Lewis and they have been testing out with young motocross rider Dan Thornhill so they have a formidable team for 2015. They will be joined by MRS new signing Mark Roberts and Clubman Champion Jon Hunt, who has now moved up very effectively into the Expert Class. World Enduro Indoor Ladies Champion, Emma Bristow, will also be under Mick's wing at the World Indoor series, where she hopes to repeat the huge success she had in her very first year of Enduro earlier this year.

The Rathmells' are very much looking forward to working with Mick and the MPS Racing team for the new season. Known for their Sherco trials bike range the Enduro bikes has made big in-roads into the Enduro market over the last two years and having Mick on board can only help their cause over the coming years. After years of development the Sherco is now a formidable force in the Enduro market and MRS are confident they will continue on this path in 2015. The next big news will be the arrival of the new 450 4T ridden to such great effect in this year's Dakar where they won two days of the Rally.

Mick Seward - MPS Racing - "I would firstly like to thank Husqvarna for the last nine years we managed to take a number of Championship titles with them and it will be sad to leave, I thank them for all their help and support over the last decade.

I am really pleased though to be joining the Sherco family for 2015, having visited the Sherco factory last month I was really impressed with their enthusiasm and professionalism and happy to be working with them. Not only that but working with the Rathmell Family will make the team a true Yorkshire Team now.

I am looking ahead to next season and we have a contract with the Sherco factory to compete in the European Championship, we will be doing the British and also as many World Championship events as possible. My rider line-up will remain the same with Jack Rowland and as soon as Jamie Lewis is fit we will have him back out on a bike. I am also working closely with Dan Thornhill to move him across from Motocross to Enduro. It is a new challenge for me and something I am excited about getting started with. I would like to thank Sherco and MRS for this opportunity and hope we can get some strong results in the new season."
