TEENAGE sensation Robert Lambert insists he will not put himself under any pressure in tonight’s British Under-21 Final at Coventry. The 17-year-old has reeled off a string of high scores for his Premier League club Peterborough so far this season as well as a six-ride paid maximum in the Elite for King’s Lynn, and he heads to Brandon as one of the favourites.Lambert said: “It will be a tough night and it should be an exciting one as well. My first target is to make it to the semi-final or final and then see what happens.“I would obviously love to end the night on top of the podium, but there is no pressure on me at all. I’ve got plenty of opportunities if it doesn’t happen tonight.”There is one change to the line-up with Adam Ellis reluctantly withdrawing due to a family bereavement. His place is taken by Connor Mountain, with Michael Neale stepping up to a reserve berth.Admission prices – Adults £12, Concessions £10, Under-16s Free.DRAW: 1 Robert Lambert, 2 Danny Phillips, 3 James Shanes, 4 Oliver Greenwood, 5 Kyle Howarth, 6 Marc Owen, 7 Ashley Morris, 8 Josh Bailey, 9 Max Clegg, 10 Josh Bates, 11 Ryan Terry-Daley, 12 Stefan Nielsen, 13 Connor Mountain, 14 Ben Morley, 15 Connor Coles, 16 Tom Stokes. BELLE Vue collected their first win of the Elite League season in their home opener with a 55-37 success over Leicester at Kirkmanshulme Lane.Aces skipper Scott Nicholls continued his strong start to the campaign with a score of 13+1, top-scoring for the fourth time in as many matches.Matej Zagar added 10+1 in a solid team performance, with the Lions well served by guest Kyle Howarth (12) – but Grzegorz Walasek was withdrawn with a suspected fracture to his left hand after a crash in his second ride.Belle Vue boss Mark Lemon said: “Getting off to a strong start at home was very important. The pressure was on after such a busy, point-less week and to come away with maximum points is just what the doctor ordered.“On a personal level I feel a lot more comfortable after watching the boys tonight and hopefully they will be feeling a bit more relaxed after such a frustrating week. There was a good vibe around the pits going into the meeting and everyone seemed to gel together really well.”The Invicta Pairs at Kent produced a close contest with just two points separating the top five pairings at the end of the night.Ben Morley scored a 15-point maximum and finished on the winning team for Kent with partner Adam Sheppard scoring two, leaving them a point clear of the Crayford and Romney pairings, with James Shanes scoring 14 for the latter.Kent chief Len Silver said: “It was a good evening’s entertainment overall. Closely contested, well balanced pairings and a lot of useful track time for the squad. “We thank the other riders who took part as well and of course the sponsors and former Crayford riders who I’m sure will have thoroughly enjoyed the reunion and the exciting Pairs event.”(FIXTURES)
