Regalia takes Silverstone AutoGP pole from Pizzonia, Zlobin

Facundo Regalia grabbed the pole position in qualifying for the second round of the 2015 Auto GP Championship at Silverstone. The 29-year from Buenos Aires, driving for FMS Racing, was able to beat Budapest pole-sitter Antonio Pizzonia with a personal best laptime of 1’46”253. The Brazilian, running for Zele Racing, ended up the Q2 segment 1.1s away from Regalia, while Russian youngster Nikita Zlobin delivered a positive third place to local squad Virtuosi UK.

Angolan Sa Silva (Zele Racing), Swissman Von Grüningen (Paolo Coloni Racing) and Colombian Mendez (Zele Racing) followed the top-3. Two cars didn't take part in the session with Cipriani (Ibiza Racing) stopped by a suspension issue in Q1 and Puerto Rican Vera Torres (FMS Racing) not entering the session.

In Q1, Pizzonia led the charts with a late laptime of 1’47”076 in front of Regalia, but the Argentinian took his revenge shortly thereafter.

Race 1 is scheduled for today,  at 13:25, while Race 2 will start Sunday at 13:30.
