CPOP LAUNCHES ‘DOUGIE DISCOUNT’ AT ACTION-FILLED MEDIA CITY PREVIEW

This year’s Cholmondeley Pageant of Power (CPOP) will see Dougie Lampkin MBE, world-renowned trials bike legend with 12 world titles to his name, appear on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June to show off his extraordinary skills.
Ahead of his debut at the event, Red Bull UK’s longest serving athlete showcased his nail-biting bike control at the Media City piazza in Manchester. Dougie was joined by a range of extreme machinery representing the varied elements of this year’s CPOP from Eighties poster cars and American muscle cars to Lotus icons and track stars.

Dougie said: “It was a great experience to ride around the iconic Media City piazza and put myself to the test in a different setting. It served as a great warm up before I take to the diverse Cholmondeley grounds on the 13th and 14th June.”
James Hall, event director, added: “Dougie’s showcase really put the piazza in a different light and proved popular with passers-by of all ages. We look forward to seeing this great world-champion put his skills to the test again next week.”

The eighth staging of CPOP will celebrate ‘power’ on land, air and water and will honour Lotus on Friday, American Muscle cars on Saturday and Eighties supercars on Sunday.
On two wheels, CPOP is welcoming bike legends Dougie Lampkin MBE and Sammy Miller MBE throughout the weekend, in addition to Triumph, the Millyard Viper V10 and a Suzuki Hayabusa.
In addition, the world’s only flying Vulcan will be taking to the skies above Cholmondeley for its last ever Cheshire flight, with the Red Bull Matadors entertaining the crowd with an aerobatic display.
