Intense action at Silverstone SEAT Leon Eurocup, video

Hectic Motorsport action took place at the weekend with some common denominators, YOKOHAMA Tyres and high performance action.

In the UK, at the legendary Silverstone circuit, the SEAT LEON Eurocup Championship, which is an International series sanctioned by the FIA and has the Japanese Tyre Manufacturer YOKOHAMA as its Official Tyre supplier, enjoyed the second race weekend of the season. The very fast circuit of 5.9 km, delighted fans in attendance and provided a sensational spectacle with drivers competing at the highest level.

The talented young Norwegian Stian Paulsen (Stian Paulsen Racing) managed his first win of the season in style. Many had predicted he could be a serious contender for the title at the end of the year and his pole position in qualifying indicated he had the potential to deliver the result at Silverstone. This he did and his victory and weekend success now places him in second overall with a small gap of only 2 points behind the leader.

Following Paulsen, in second spot was Pol Rosell, current leader of the Championship and in third, Mikel Azcona, also currently in third overall, who were the only two drivers able to pressure Paulsen in the early stages of the race and towards the end.

Cocker, on his first season in the SEAT LEON Eurocup, achieved his maiden victory ahead of fellow Briton, Alexander Morgan who was second and Jordi Oriola third.

For her part, Lucile Cypriano, managed to gain points in both races and strengthens her position in the Ladies Trophy.

The next race of the SEAT LEON Eurocup takes place at the Austrian Red Bull Ring on the weekend of the 5th July.
