Motors TV Weekend Highlights July 25,26

Good news, the week is nearly over. The chequered flag is in sight, ladies and gents. If it's been a bit of a slow burner, why not put some pedal to the metal this weekend? Two jam-packed days of rather fast things should suffice, so it's lucky we have that in store for you.

First and foremost you can feast your eyes upon one of the granddaddies of endurance racing as the Blancpain Endurance Series heads back to Belgium for the blue riband Spa 24 Hours.

This year the highly prestigious GT event returns for its 67th outing, but don't think for one second that the old girl has no life left in her. Oh no. In fact, judging by the infinitesimally small gap at the top of the Pro and Pro Am Cup standings, we reckon she'll have a mighty spring in her step! You can watch her live and kicking with us, so best not miss out!

Fancy a bit of added exoticness with your Spa experience? In case we got you excited, we didn't mean the thing with the steamy rooms and the hot tubs. Instead we have something you petrolheads will appreciate far more: loud noise and fire-spitting exhausts courtesy of Lamborghini Super Trofeo, which we will also be covering live from the legendary Belgian track.

Take a trip across the Pond and you'll find that the Yanks and their rapid endurance tanks are back for the next round of the United SportsCar Championship at Lime Rock Park this weekend. As ever, there awaits a rather stonking collection of prototypes and GTs so tune in live to see how they do epic, long-haul racing Stateside.

Meanwhile, the Aussies have been thrashing their eight-pot muscle machines around Townsville incredibly fast and quite furiously for the next round of V8 Supercars. Mark Winterbottom had a chunky lead going into the event, but could Bathurst winner and close rival Craig Lowndes build on his form in Darwin and rein in the rampaging championship leader? Initiate the habitual viewing procedure and check out our highlights to find out!

For the sake of variety, and because we really like a bit of dirty/bikey hooliganism, we're also inviting FIM MXGP to this weekend's party. The maniacal motorbikers are due to join us from the Czech Republic, where MXGP leader Romain Febvre will be looking to extend his championship lead after close rival Antonio Cairoli's woes in the previous round, whilst the riders from the MX2 contingent are on the hunt to make Jeffrey Herling's position at the top of the points table a lot less comfortable.

If you happen to be left wanting more, you can catch the best bits from the FIA World Rally Championship, the Volkswagen Racing Cup UK and the Ginetta GT5 Challenge. Weekend sorted!
