Cummins returns to the Ulster GP with Honda Racing

Conor Cummins will be back on-board the Honda Racing CBR1000RR Fireblade SP this week for the Ulster Grand Prix. Situated just west of Belfast in Northern Ireland, the event takes place on the 7.4-mile Dundrod circuit and is dubbed ‘the world’s fastest road race’.

The ‘Ramsey rocket’ was due to race at the meeting last year for Honda Racing, but had to pull out after sustaining an injury at the Southern 100 in mid-July. Cummins has enjoyed previous success at the UGP, winning the Superbike race in 2009 and is a former lap record holder, something he hopes he can repeat this year.

Cummins will compete for Honda Racing in three Superbike races, with one on Thursday 6 August and two on Saturday 8 August.

Conor CumminsI cannot wait until first practice next week on the Superbike! The Ulster GP is one of myfavourite races and after missing it last year due to my injury I’m even more eager to get going thisyear. I’m hoping to finish the international road racing season on a high and the Honda CBR ticks allthe boxes for me, and I just can’t wait to get on it. I’ve had a good track record at the Ulster in thepast with a lap record and a win in 2009; so I’m hoping I can repeat that success this year. It’s aproper fast course and excites me every time I get to race there, and the Fireblade is well suited toits fast flowing nature.

Neil TuxworthUnfortunately Conor missed the Ulster GP last year due to injury, which was a real shame as it isone of his favourite meetings, but we’re pleased to be returning this year with the team. Conor hasenjoyed good results previously at the circuit, so we’re hoping he will have success on-board theCBR in the races. The Northern Irish fans always show great support, so it’s a pleasure to be racingin front of them at the Ulster again.
