Bartosz Zmarzlik back to defend his Gorzow FIM Speedway GP of Poland crown

Polish shooting star Bartosz Zmarzlik is back to defend his Gorzow FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland crown after being named wild card for the Edward Jancarz Stadium event on August 29.

The 20-year-old lines up in the No.16 race jacket for the fourth straight season as he goes from strength to strength in world speedway.

Zmarzlik made his Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup debut with Poland in June as his side claimed the bronze medal at Vojens.

He is currently joint leader of the FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship with Kjærgaard Danish SGP wild card Mikkel Michelsen after they both scored 14 points in the opening round at Italian track Lonigo on July 11.

Zmarzlik’s form has been nothing short of sensational for defending champions Gorzow in the Polish Ekstraliga and he has also impressed for Swedish title holders Vetlanda in the Elitserien.

Brilliant Bartek is joined in the Gorzow SGP by club team mates Adrian Cyfer and Rafal Karczmarz. They line up as track reserves in the No.17 and No.18 race jackets respectively.

Danish rider Peter Kildemand – this year’s SGP first reserve – retains his place in the line-up for Gorzow with Polish hero Jaroslaw Hampel recovering from a broken leg.

The referee for the Gorzow SGP is Denmark’s Jesper Steentoft.
