William Dunlop Increases Lead in Duke Ranking

William Dunlop increased his advantage at the top of Duke Road Race Rankings after competing in the Faugheen 50 Road Races, near Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary, Eire, Round 18 of the 2015 Series.

Having headed the table for the first time after the previous round, the Ulster Grand Prix, the quiet Ulsterman opened his account with a third place in the Superbike race and followed that with a race victory on the 2.200-mile  closed roads course, before finishing his day with a fourth place in the Grand Final giving him a 150 point lead over Ivan Lintin, with current champion James Cowton remaining in third place.

However is was local rider Derek McGee who was awarded the 'Man of the Meeting' Trophy, taking thee second places, in both the Superbike races and the Grand Final,  along with a race win in the SuperTwins event. His efforts move him up from fifth to fourth.

Dean Harrison and Guy Martin, Lee Johnston, Michael Dunlop, Seamus Elliott and Ian Hutchinson complete the top ten.

The Junior 250cc race was won by 2014 Duke Newcomers winner Neil Kernohan which results in him climbing six places to 20th, whilst 125cc race winner Paul Jordan moves from 21st to 15th.

The Senior Support races were won by Dean Campbell and Darryl Tweed with both Junior Support races saw Brian Coomey take the chequered flag which puts him in 24th spot in the table.

The action now returns to the Isle of Man for next two rounds, the Classis TT and the Manx Grand Prix, before returning to Southern Ireland for the penultimate European round at the Killalane Road Races.
