British Speedway StatementDate: Wednesday August 19, 2015
THE British Speedway Promoters' Association are extremely pleased to be working with the good people of Poultec on the new and exciting speedway training programme. As an association we are often criticised for not paying enough attention to youth development, but we are always looking at ways in which we can work with the youngsters.
I must also add that there is currently a record number of youngsters riding competitively in Development Leagues up and down the country and also in our very own youth championships. This is something we must be proud of and indeed aim to build on.
The new training programme is a wonderful opportunity for riders to enhance their personal and professional skills and to become a stronger person and, in turn, a stronger speedway rider.Poultec are specialists in training and we are fortunate to have their expertise and enthusiasm to work alongside us for the benefit of the younger riders.
The BSPA are always more than willing to look at new ideas and ways in which young riders can have more opportunities and develop their skills - and we believe this training programme and apprenticeship is the perfect opportunity.
I hope this is the start of a long and very successful training programme for the development of young British riders. Alex Harkess - BSPA Chairman
