Motors TV Weekend Highlights for August Bank Holiday

As per usual the Great British Summer has been kind to us and rain is due to fall this Bank Holiday. Keeping warm and dry is far more preferable, so we've got all the action from some of the best championships around for you this weekend.

The main event to look forward to is the return of the pinnacle of sportscar racing; the FIA World Endurance Championship. Having not raced since the blue riband Le Mans 24 Hours, drivers are itching to be back behind the wheel of their LMPs or GTs for the fourth instalment of the global series.

Indeed following Porsche's epic victory at La Sarthe, Audi's Andre Lotterer, Benoit Treluyer and Marcel Fassler will be keen to extend the points lead over their nearest rivals. We'll be showing some of the six-hour contest live on Sunday, with a highlights show on Bank Holiday Monday, too.

We've also got the 16th round of the FIM MXGP World Championship as-it-happens on Sunday so we'd recommend getting that Snuggie and just settling in for the day.

For the first time ever, the longest-standing venue on the MotoGP calendar - TT circuit of Assen - will play host to the MXGP of The Netherlands. How, I hear you ask. Well, let's just say 25,000 cubic metres of white sand has been imported. What's more, rookie Romain Febvre's 101-point lead over fellow Frenchman Gautier Paulin means that he could mathematically be crowned world champion this weekend. Big drama ahead.

And, on top of that, we've got some great highlights from more mega series in case you missed them first time around.

The ever-entertaining British GT Championship enjoyed an action-packed double-header from Snetterton last weekend. We're showing the first race of the weekend, where the GT4 title could have been decided. Tune in to find out if it was...

And there's more action from Snetterton with highlights from the junior single-seater BRDC Formula 4 Championship, as well as the best bits from the Hungarian and Belgian rounds of the Porsche Supercup.
