Alvaro Fontes joins RCA Racing Barcelona 24h effort

Fontes returns to the 24 hours of Barcelona, a race with indelible memories as he won his class and finished 5th overall in 2011, he joins RCA Racing to share its SEAT León Cup Racer – the same model he is currently driving in the Spanish Endurance Championship - with Vela, Sicart, Carbó and González-Bueno.

At present Fontes has his sights set on the CER title fight with his teammate Mirco van Oostrum but simultaneously he was able to secure a seat for 24H Barcelona with RCA Racing with whom contested the Spanish GT Series

RCA Racing will fight for class honors in A3T, with no less than 16 cars on the entry list, and completing an extremely competitive driver line-up as Álvaro Vela, Alan Sicart, Jaime Carbó and César González-Bueno will team up with Fontes.

“It is very exciting to confirm my second participation at the 24 hours of Barcelona. I love this race and fortunately I managed to take win four years ago with incredible teammates”, the driver explains. "To be honest my goal is winning the race for a second time, but I realize that it is difficult target as there are some big names on the entry list. But RCA Racing is an experienced team, our driver line-up is pretty good and the SEAT León Cup runs like clockwork in endurance racing. We set ourselves ambitious goals. I am looking forward to driving the car at Montmeló for the very first time next week.”
