Motors TV Weekend Highlights September 5,6

As we were so reliably informed by the delightfully wet weather last weekend, summer is doing a runner for another year. Never mind though - your supercharged appointment with the sofa and the High Speed Television Channel isn't going anywhere!

Firstly, relive your ideal sunny getaway and travel to the Cote d'Azur with our live coverage of the European Le Mans Series' fourth round - the 4 Hours of Le Castellet.

The previous event in Austria saw some intense competition across the field, with JOTA Sport and Thiriet by TDS Racing scrapping for top honours in the LMP2 category, and the AF Corse and Formula Racing squads providing even more nose-to-tail tussling for the GTE winners' trophy. As one of Europe's premier circuits, Paul Ricard is guaranteed to throw up yet another lights-to-flag belter. As you should know belters are not to be missed, and this is certainly no exception!

We can also guarantee some virtual sunshine for at least half of the next event we have in store - the 24H Series' Barcelona 24 Hours. The brief is quite simple: a truly enormous grid, a challenging grand prix track and nothing but expensive fire-spitting sportscars being thrashed for a solid day of great racing. A real test of man and machine, this fantastic event will be shown in real time so you can properly appreciate the lucky sods who get to do this for a job.

There's certainly a strong showing from the legendary grand prix venue contingent this weekend as the International GT Open heads to Spa-Francorchamps for its fifth outing of the season. There's just five points separating the top three driver pairings going into the event, so with only two rounds left to run after this weekend everything is still to play for!

Some of the world's brightest racing talent tests its mettle in the Ardennes too as EuroFormula Open takes to the Belgian track for round six. Catch all the action live to see if rapid Russian Konstantin Tereshchenko can grab yet another win in his relentless march to his maiden EuroFormula Open title.

The fun doesn't end there, folks, as the young guns contesting the FIA Formula 3 European Championship head out once again for the next round at Portimao. Felix Rosenqvist is slowly whittling away Antonio Giovinazzi's championship lead, but can the Swede catch up before the game is over? Only one way to find out!

And to keep you welded to that sofa we'll also be showing some action from both the Renault Sport Trophy and Maserati Trofeo.

With all that in store it's safe to say that you will be embracing your new life as a couch potato with immediate effect. Looks like summer can jog on!
