Trident GP2, GP3 Monza Preview‏

FINALLY, MONZA! THE MOST ANTICIPATED WEEK-END OF THE SEASON IS ABOUT TO START.

Five letters, an enormous passion. That's Monza. In every nation where engines run, just one word make people dream about speed, thrills, emotions and history. The 86th edition of the Grand Prix means that Monza has the longest-running Formula 1 tradition, more than other prestigious events at Monte Carlo and Silverstone. In the so far brief history of the GP2 Series, Monza has been a constant feature and Trident will be at their 10th straight run in their home race. The round at Monza will feature different approaches for the team led by Maurizio Salvadori in GP2 and GP3. The top category will see them looking for a rebound. The 2015 championship hasn't yet paid dividends for the effort put together by the team due to a series of different reasons. So the watchword will be "comeback". Being close to home is an additional motivation for every team and it will be the same for Raffaele Marciello. The Italian, part of the Ferrari Driver Academy and member of the ACI Team Italia, knows the 5.7-kilometer racetrack really well and hopes to deliver right from the start. He will be partnered by a new (for him) team-mate, 25-year-old Johnny Cecotto. The Venezuelan had a successful GP2 campaign with Trident in 2014, when he captured two wins en-route to the fifth place in standings. Johnny will make his way to his old team to replace Gustav Malja. The Swede, who showcased good skills and a really professional attitude at Spa-Francorchamps, won't be entering Monza due to a conflicting Formula Renault event. In the GP3 Series, the emotional intensity will be the same, as well as the commitment throughout the weekend, although the team will be looking for more success rather than a rebound. The series is landing at Monza with Luca Ghiotto leading the standings with 154 points, 28 more than his closest opponent, thanks to three wins and several points finishes. Lining up alongside him will be young Pole Artur Janosz, while the third car will welcome a surprising new addition. Making his way to the GP3 Series for the first time will be Belgian Amaury Bonduel, a 16-year-old prospect who has made his Formula Renault 2.0 debut this season after a successful karting career. The weekend's first race for the GP2 Series will be at 15:40 on Saturday and will be followed by GP3 at 17:50. The sequence will be reversed for race 2 ad the GP3 Series will go underway at 9:25 AM before GP2 aace 2 at 10:35. Practice qualifying and the races will be covered live by SkySportF1.
