The first race of the GP3 Series weekend at Monza didn't hand Trident the results that the team expected and deserved. Despite the sensational pole scored by Luca Ghiotto, the impressive laptimes set by Artur Janosz and the good result brought home by rookie Amaury Bonduel, the Italian squad ended up scoring a 16th place with the Frenchmen, a 18th place with Janosz and a DNF with Luca.
AMAURY BONDUEL
French youngster Amaury Bonduel, who lined-up for the his first race in the GP3 Series, was able to capture a positive result in 16th place, setting good laptimes, completing the race with no mistakes and putting valuable experience under his belt. Amaury experienced his first start with a fully-loaded car which is much heavier than the ones he's used to. So he struggled a bit in the beginning before figuring out a good pace and managing both the car and the tire wear really well.

ARTUR JANOSZ
The outcome of Artur's race was conditioned by a contact he was not responsible for. At the end of the first lap, he had to come back to the pits to replace his front wing. The stop cost him all the positions he had gained at the start and also lots of ground on the pack. Artur didn't back down though. He delivered a determined run, scoring laptimes comparable with the ones set by the frontrunners. A bitter taste remains for having crossed the line in 17th, but Janosz must be proud of his progress. Also, he put together his best qualifying performance of the year while still showing more room for improvement.

After an extraordinary qualifying session that saw Luca post his fifth pole of the season with a gap of more than one second on his closest followerd and more points scored for the championship, the ACI Team Italia driver lined-up at the front of the grid. When the lights went off though, maybe due to the pressure for this being his home race, he made a mistake which saw him stall his car and retire. With his margin at the top of the driver standings down to 6 points, the Italian racer and the whole team are working hard to deliver a stunning recovery tomorrow and complete their home round still out front in points.

MONZA Race 2
The 2014 GP3 Series weekend at Monza and Trident's Luca Ghiotto was the star of the day as he fought back to third place after starting from the back. The Vicenza-based driver, member of the ACI Team Italia, put up a brilliant display of talent while managing to hold the championship lead. Team-mate Amaury Bonduel, who took-off from the 16th position, recovered well up to P12. He showed good chemistry with his GP3 Series car and increased his experience. Unfortunately, Artur Janosz missed the sprint race due to a mechanical issue. LUCA GHIOTTO
Starting from the rear of the pack, Luca delivered a brilliant recovery, showing class and determination en-route to a great podium finish. He started well, without a single hiccup, and pushed harder and harder, catching his opponents lap by lap. Ghiotto completed several successful passing attempts but stayed smart and consistent even in the closing stages, when tire degradation came into play with a negative impact on his driving. He leaves his home track with a 14-point margin over his closest follower, cheered by the whole team and their supporters.

French youngster Amaury Bonduel ended up the sprint race at the high-speed Monza venue in 12th place. An extremely good result for a rookie who, as an additional positive note, also showcased his quick learning abilities and easily managed to put his technical staff's advice in practice. Overall, it was a really satisfactory run for Bonduel, who improved his performance session after session, lap after lap, and gained lots of experience for his future endeavours.

On the other hand, Artur Janosz was prevented from repeating yesterday's run. The Pole missed the sprint race due to a clutch issue that emerged before the start. During the formation lap, he realized that his car wasn't behaving as expected and diagnosed a clutch problem, coming back to the pits. He decided to start from there, in order to avoid any possible contact, but then came in to retire after the first lap.
