FOR PRESTIGIOUS HENRY SURTEES CHALLENGELeading single-seater team Hillspeed is delighted to confirm its continued support of the annual Henry Surtees Challenge, which will take place this year at Buckmore Park on Wednesday, 7th October, by donating an outstanding prize test in one of the new-for-2016 BRDC Formula 4 cars. Having long been a key supporter of the prestigious fundraising event organised by John Surtees OBE, which attracts some of motorsport’s biggest names each year, the Richard Ollerenshaw-led Hillspeed squad is providing its biggest and best prize yet.

As well as the one day test in the brand new Tatuus-Cosworth F4-016, which produces 230bhp and features the very latest technology, the driver who ultimately wins the prize will also undertake a full seat fitting at the squad’s Derbyshire HQ and will benefit from one-to-one driver coaching.

“We’re huge supporters of the Henry Surtees Challenge and the incredible work of the Henry Surtees Foundation and very proud to confirm our continued backing of the event with a prize test in one of our new BRDC F4 cars”, said Ollerenshaw, “John and his team do wonderful work in raising funds for, and giving support to, vital charities and emergency services such as the Air Ambulance.

“It really is an exceptional prize for one of the participants in this year’s Henry Surtees Challenge kart race and we’re very much looking forward to working with whoever wins the test. It goes without saying too, everyone at Hillspeed wishes John and everyone at HSF huge success with the event.”

This year is the fifth staging of the Henry Surtees Challenge, named and run in memory of John’s late son, and the event has become a key fixture on the motorsport calendar for youngsters aged 15 and over.

Already attracting some of the brightest talents from karting and cars, with past winners Alexander Sims and Jack Aitken set to take part, entries have also been placed by the Racing Steps Foundation and MSA Academy.

John Surtees OBE said: “Richard and the team at Hillspeed have enthusiastically supported this event from its concept.  The team does not only bring the fantastic opportunity of testing the new BRDC F4 car, but also that vital wealth of experience which is so necessary to have behind you when you are in the early stages of your career. Thank you Hillspeed.”

Participants will race Club 100 Birel Karts with the top three finishers earning the prestigious Henry ‘H’ trophy title and a huge array of exclusive prizes – considered to be the best ever offered at a kart race meeting.
