America's GT Cup Unveils 2016 Schedule for The Stuttgart Cup

Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy USA and The Maranello Cup

Trio of Series to Visit Top U.S. Race Tracks in 10-Event Schedule, Including First Appearance at Virginia International RacewayOfficials from America's GT Cup announced today the 2016 schedule of events for The Stuttgart Cup, Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy USA and The Maranello Cup auto racing series.

All three series will compete in a 10-event race schedule visiting eight different road courses in the Eastern U.S. from February through December.

The Stuttgart Cup features Porsche Caymans and Boxsters, Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy USA is home to Porsche 996, 997 and other GT3 Cup models from the past decade while the debuting Maranello Cup is open to previously eligible Ferrari Challenge race cars.

The 2016 schedule includes the first appearance by an America's GT Cup operated series at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) and return visits to other established and iconic tracks such as Sebring, Daytona, Road Atlanta, Road America, Mid-Ohio, Palm Beach and Savannah.

"The 2016 schedule for The Stuttgart Cup, Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy USA and The Maranello Cup is the right mix of familiar and new events and venues," said Ken Fengler, America's GT Cup Competition Director and General Manager. "Next year will be an important one for both our established Stuttgart Cup and Mission Foods GT3 Cup series as well as the debut of The Maranello Cup. Being able to announce now a confirmed schedule that includes races on some of the most legendary tracks in the U.S. is a great first step in what will be our best year of on-track competition to date."

The 2016 season begins for the second-consecutive year with the Palm Beach Grand Prix, February 11 - 13, at Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR).

Palm Beach will be followed by the first of two 2016 visits to Sebring International Raceway, March 3 - 6, at the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) Spring Vintage Classic.

The Stuttgart Cup, Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy USA and The Maranello Cup will also be part of the 39th Anniversary of The Mitty, April 21 - 24, the first of two appearances with Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) next year at Road Atlanta.

Road America returns to the schedule for the second-consecutive year for the SVRA Spring Vintage Festival, May 14 - 17.

Later in May, the America's GT Cup trio of series will visit Virginia International Raceway for the first time on a new Memorial Day weekend HSR event, May 26 - 29.

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course's annual SVRA Mid-Ohio Vintage Grand Prix is also back on the schedule for 2016 on the weekend of June 23 - 26.

The fall portion of the schedule includes what has become a familiar lineup of four HSR races to close out the season.

The Atlanta Fall Historics, September 15 - 18, is the second and final appearance of the season at Road Atlanta but kicks off a pair of back-to-back races in Georgia for The Stuttgart Cup, Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy USA and The Maranello Cup.

The series are back in the Peach State one month later for the Savannah Speed Classic, October 27 - 30, on the Grand Prize Circuit on Hutchison Island, just across the river from downtown Savannah.

The 2016 schedule concludes with what has become the traditional season-ending Daytona Historic Races, November 10 - 13, and December's Sebring Historics finale, Sebring 1 - 4.

The 2016 racing season will mark the third year The Stuttgart Cup and Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy USA series will race together. Like Porsche-based racing series, The Maranello Cup will be based on close and fair racing on the track and great competitor camaraderie after the checkered flag falls.

The addition of The Maranello Cup to the America's GT Cup family of racing series also aligns what many regard as the two most iconic automobile brands in the world: Porsche and Ferrari.

The Maranello Cup will debut at this year's season-ending HSR Sebring Historics, December 3 - 6, in preparation for the full year of competition in 2016. The Maranello Cup's inaugural season will be a full points-based series that, like The Stuttgart Cup and the Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy USA, will crown a champion at year's end.

All America's GT Cup racing series compete with the support of official series partners Pirelli Tire North America, BRM Chronographes, Pacifico Costa Rica, Mission Foods, VP Racing Fuels, Palm Beach Driving Club and Bob Woodman Tires.
