WOLVERHAMPTON have snapped up experienced international racer Joonas Kylmakorpi as the first member of their top five for the 2016 season.After unveiling reserve pairing Kyle Howarth and Max Clegg last week, the club have now swooped for the four-time World Long Track Champion who spent last season with Coventry.Wolves promoter Chris Van Straaten said: “We are delighted with the signing and we are looking forward to seeing Joonas in action for us.“He has pulled off some remarkable performances at Monmore Green over the years but also has extensive big track experience with his Long Track career, so we are confident he can be a very good rider for us.”(SPEEDWAY 2)

LEICESTER have confirmed Polish youngster Szymon Wozniak as a starter for their Elite League line-up next season.Wozniak was ever-present for the Lions in his debut British campaign, and he completed the year with the third-highest average in the team at home.Lions boss Norrie Allan said: “Szymon was on my wish list and I am pleased that he has agreed to return. “I was impressed with the professionalism he showed all season and I believe that there is a great deal more to come from him.”

COVENTRY Storm have named Liam Carr as their first confirmed signing for the 2016 season.Berwick asset Carr made a successful guest appearance for the Storm in their double-header against Eastbourne and Mildenhall last month and will join the Brandon club on a 7.73 average after spending the bulk of this year with Buxton.Coventry boss Laurence Rogers said: “Liam loves the Coventry track and he fitted in superbly with us when he guested in those final meetings of the season.“I’m sure he’s going to improve greatly on that starting average, and it’s a great start to our planning for next year.”
